Open Applier vs OpenApply: two different products, two different audiences

May 7, 2026 · 4 min read · Aayush Baniya

If you searched for “openapplier” and Google asked “Did you mean openapply?”, this post is for you. The two names sound nearly identical. The two products solve completely unrelated problems. Here's a quick map so you land in the right place.

The short version

  • Open Applier (openapplier.com) — an AI-powered Chrome extension that auto-fills job applications on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. For job seekers.
  • OpenApply (openapply.com) — a school admissions and CRM platform for K-12 international schools. For school administrators. We have no affiliation with them.

Open Applier — what we do

Open Applier is a Chrome extension that lives next to the Open Apply button on supported applicant tracking systems. You complete an application profile once — contact info, work history, education, work authorization, the answers you keep retyping into every form — and the extension fills the next one for you. On the Pro plan ($5/month), it tailors your resume and cover letter per job description. Every application pauses for explicit review before it submits. Nothing leaves your computer without you clicking the button.

Supported ATS at launch: Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. Workable, iCIMS, and Taleo are on the roadmap.

OpenApply — what they do

OpenApply is a separate company — a school admissions and CRM SaaS used by international K-12 schools to manage prospective student applications, enrollment funnels, and family communications. If you're a school administrator looking for that product, their site is openapply.com. They've been operating since the early 2010s and are part of Faria Education Group. We're not affiliated, not a competitor, and not a clone — we just happen to share two-thirds of a name.

Why the name confusion

“Apply” is a load-bearing word in both education and employment. OpenApply got there first in the education vertical; we picked “Open Applier” because the verb fits what the extension does — you click Open Applyand it does the apply for you. Google's spell-correction kicks in for unfamiliar terms with high authority neighbors, which is why a search for the new brand currently surfaces the older one. That's a temporary side effect of being new on the internet, not a sign that one of us is the “real” openapply-something.

If you landed here by mistake

If you're a school administrator or parent looking for the school admissions platform, you want openapply.com. If you're a job seeker who wants to stop retyping the same answers into Workday for the 200th time this month, you're in the right place: read how Open Applier works, check out the $5 Pro plan, or jump straight to creating an account.
